Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Olevo collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Olevo iOS app and related website. It reflects the current product state: Private Checks for supported text and call inputs, Detailed Reviews for deeper review and image analysis, local on-device history, anonymous service profiles, and App Store subscriptions.

Information you choose to check
Olevo is a calm second opinion when a message, call, screenshot, photo of a letter, or similar content does not feel right.
Olevo has two check types. Private Checks run on your device for pasted text and described phone calls using local scam-pattern rules. Detailed Reviews send the content you choose to check to the Olevo backend and to OpenAI for review.
For Detailed Reviews, Olevo may process the message text, call details, screenshot, photo, clarifier answers, and similar context that you choose to provide. The app asks for consent before the first Detailed Review. OpenAI processes this content so Olevo can return a verdict, reasons, suggested next steps, and extracted text for images when available.
Screenshots and photos require a Detailed Review for full image review. If you do not want to send image content, you can paste or type the visible text and use a Private Check where supported.
Local data on your device
Olevo does not require a sign-in or named user account. The app stores saved check history, notes, trusted contacts, onboarding preferences, Detailed Review consent status, and privacy settings on your device.
Saved history uses redacted snippets where possible. You can disable saved history, clear saved checked items, and enable 30-day auto-delete in the app settings.
Trusted contacts are stored locally so you can remember who you may want to share results with. Olevo does not upload your trusted contacts as part of normal app use.
Anonymous service profile and usage records
Olevo creates an anonymous service profile so the backend can run Detailed Reviews, enforce free and Premium Detailed Review limits, prevent abuse, and keep subscription access working across service sessions.
This profile uses random technical identifiers and session credentials so the app and backend can recognize the same anonymous installation over time. These are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and in the Olevo backend.
These identifiers are random technical identifiers. They are not traditional user accounts and are not tied to your name, email, or personal identity.
The backend stores limited service records linked to that anonymous identifier, such as free Detailed Reviews used, onboarding demo use, Premium monthly Detailed Review usage, entitlement tier, entitlement lookup time, subscription expiration status when available, deleted-profile count, and service-session timestamps.
Olevo may also use IP address-derived rate limiting and infrastructure logs to protect the service, investigate errors, and prevent abuse.
Olevo does not use these records for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. Olevo and RevenueCat use a separate anonymous subscription identifier so the backend can verify whether Premium access is active and apply the correct check limits.
Olevo stores entitlement status, tier, lookup time, and expiration information needed to provide Premium access.
Deleting your Olevo service profile does not cancel Apple subscriptions. If you have an active subscription, manage or cancel it through Apple Subscriptions.
Service profile deletion and retained records
You can delete your anonymous service profile from Settings. Deletion removes the active anonymous service subject and refresh sessions used to run secure checks. It does not delete saved checked items, notes, trusted contacts, or preferences on your device; those can be managed separately in Settings.
After service profile deletion, Olevo retains limited quota and subscription records linked to the anonymous identifier used for limits and subscription checks. These retained records are used to prevent free Detailed Review abuse, enforce monthly Premium limits, preserve active Premium access, and support service security.
These retained technical records do not include your name, email, message content, screenshots, photos, personal notes, or trusted contacts.
If you continue using Olevo after deletion, the backend creates a new anonymous service subject that remains linked to those retained quota and subscription records.
Photos and camera
Olevo requests camera access only when you choose to photograph a letter or document for review.
Olevo requests photo-library access only when you choose a screenshot or image for review.
Third-party services
Olevo uses third-party providers for limited parts of the service, including:
- OpenAI for Detailed Reviews
- RevenueCat for subscription entitlement handling
- Apple for App Store distribution, billing, and platform services
The backend may also use infrastructure services such as hosted databases, Redis, application hosting, and logging services to operate and protect the service.
No sale or tracking
Olevo does not sell your information.
The app does not use collected data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Olevo is not designed to keep your submitted messages or images as part of long-term server-side records after analysis completes.
Children's privacy
Olevo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly design the service to collect personal information directly from children through a registration or account-creation flow.
