A buyer's payment message, checked before the handover

The buyer says the payment is ready. Before you send an item, refund money, or share a code, check what actually appears in your own account. Olevo can help you read the request alongside that independent check.

Did the payment arrive?

Why do they need a code?

??

Quick answer

Open the bank or payment app you normally use yourself. A screenshot or email from a buyer is not confirmation of money received. Ask the real provider about any payment status you do not understand before handing over or shipping the item.

Keep a request to refund an overpayment, pay to release a transfer, or share a verification code separate from the sale. Do not send money or a code just because the buyer says it is needed to complete their payment.

Olevo reviews wording you provide. It cannot see a Zelle transfer or other account activity, verify a buyer, confirm a payment, or guarantee seller protection.

Look at the request, one part at a time

I've paid for your listing. The confirmation email says the payment is pending. Please follow its instructions to release it, then hand the item to my courier.
Illustrative wording written by Olevo. This is a walkthrough of the request, not a real person's message or a recorded app result.
  • The buyer's message and email are both claims. The payment needs checking in your own bank or payment app, reached independently.
  • A courier booking does not establish that money arrived. Keep the collection decision separate from the payment status.
  • If the next instruction asks for money, a login, or a code, stop and ask the real provider about that specific request. You do not need to follow it to find out whether the buyer paid.

Keep the item and leave the supplied links unused while you check the payment directly. You can make that check without downloading Olevo.

How it helps

Built for the moment before you respond

Write down what would leave your control

Look at the next requested action. Would you be giving up the item, returning money, sending a new payment, or sharing a code? Those are different decisions, even when the buyer presents them as one normal checkout process.

Use the provider's real app or support route to check any incoming payment. If the buyer claims an overpayment, ask the provider how to handle it; do not send a separate refund based only on their screenshot or message. Payment availability and protections depend on the actual service and transaction.

Review the request with private details removed

For another reading, paste the buyer's message into Olevo with account details, phone numbers, full links, transaction references, and all codes removed. Include what you were selling and what the sender wants next; the private values are not needed to explain the request.

Private Check supports pasted text on your device. A screenshot or photo uses Detailed Review, which sends selected content to Olevo's backend and OpenAI after the app explains consent. Remove sensitive details from images before submitting them. A review does not confirm that funds arrived.

Use the platform and provider for the transaction

Check the marketplace's current seller-protection and payment rules before agreeing to a method. Keep the listing and messages as records, and use the platform's report options for suspicious accounts or requests. Do not continue the exchange just to collect more material for an app review.

If you already sent money or a code, contact the affected provider promptly through its real support process. If an item was shipped, contact the shipping service about available options. An optional wording review should follow urgent account and payment steps.

Common questions

Does a Zelle or other payment screenshot prove the buyer paid me?

No. A screenshot is not independent confirmation of account activity. Open your own bank or payment app and check the transaction there. Ask the actual provider about a pending or unclear status before shipping, handing over an item, or sending a separate payment or refund.

Should I share a code so a Marketplace buyer can verify me?

Keep verification codes private. The FTC describes buyers using a supposed identity check to request a Google Voice code linked to the seller's phone number. A code can authorize an account action rather than verify the sale. If you shared one, contact the affected service through its real recovery process.

Can Olevo verify the payment or buyer for me?

No. It can help explain warning signs in the message or call description you provide. It cannot access the payment account, establish the buyer's identity, confirm seller protection, or reverse a transaction. Use your provider and the marketplace's official support routes for those questions.

Feel sure before you respond.
